Growing and processing quality grains has been an integral part of Glanbia Ireland since the early 1900s. You can read more about this here. Today, our closed-loop supply chain and secure processing methods ensure fully traceable gluten-free oats. Our high-quality ingredients begin with our plant supply from our farms.

State-of-the-art milling and processing

Glanbia Ireland invested in a state-of-the-art oat processing facility in Portlaoise, Co. Laois. This Grade AA BRC-accredited oat-only mill is the first such facility to be built in Ireland and has significant capacity for export to US and European consumer food markets. The facility operates to the highest international food safety standards, guaranteeing fewer than 10 parts per million compared to the 20 parts per million FDA guideline.

Fully traceable gluten-free harvesting and processing

Our oats are harvested using our own equipment to reduce contamination risk. They are stored in a specialised gluten-free storage facility and not on-farm, which poses a contamination risk. During processing, our oats are heat treated to give an 18-month shelf-life compared to the 12-month standard.
